Born and raised in small town Wisconsin, I only ever dreamed of becoming a Badger. And so, I'm proud to say that in May 2014, I became an alum from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I graduated with my BA in English. Not long after graduating, and a short stint in the world of editing, I decided that just wasn't the right fit for me. For me, it wasn't enough; I needed more. I returned to school and graduated with my Secondary English Education degree from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (Go Pack!). During my program, I returned to my most-loved stomping grounds (Madison, duh) to student teach. I was then recruited by the English department to stay on as a long-term substitute teacher. I finished out the 2016-2017 school year at Madison West, teaching freshmen and seniors. From there, I made the trek cross-country to CO! It was a big life change, but my time here so far has been a beautiful year of all things new and self-growth. I spent the 2017-2018 school year working with my 7th grade kiddos at Fort Lupton Middle School. And now, I'm beyond excited to dig in at Golden. Go Demons!
Outside of school, I hike and read. I bake, yoga, craft and build. I go on the occasional run. I'm a little OCD about cleanliness and right angles, but overall, it's the people in my life that matter most. Check out some of pictures below if you're interested in a little glimpse into my life! |
